What Bridgetown handles

Services

Bridgetown Electric has worked out of the shop on N Lombard Street since 1994, mostly on Portland homes and occasionally on commercial and industrial jobs. Panel and service upgrades, Generac generators and knob and tube abatement are the three calls we get most, and they carry the detail below. The other eight are grouped further down. Five of these jobs have a real published price on our pricing page, and the rest get an estimate that is usually ready within one to two weeks.

The most common call

Panel upgrades and service upgrades

Fuse boxes, breaker panels with no spare space left, and services that were sized for a house with one television. We pull the old panel and set the new one to match your current service size, and when the service itself is too small we coordinate with the power company, rebuild the drop and meter, and put in a panel to match the new incoming service. These are the two jobs we publish a flat rate for, on the pricing page.

Authorized Generac dealer

Generator installation

We are an authorized Generac dealer for the Portland Metro area, which means the whole-house or portable unit, the transfer switch, the fuel line and any panel work it needs behind it all come from the same shop. The warranty and the parts trace back to Generac directly, not through a middleman installer.

Pre-1950s houses

Knob and tube abatement

A lot of North Portland is older than its wiring should be. We disconnect and remove the existing knob and tube and install new wiring and junction boxes, which is what lets an insulation crew cover the attic afterward and what an insurer wants to see. Our base price is $3,495 per attic or crawl space area; wiring on to the devices, switches and lighting themselves is additional, and any insulation already laid over the old wiring should come out first.
