The tub shows up first, the wiring question second
Almost nobody plans the electrical before they buy the hot tub. It arrives, or it's about to, and then the question is where the power comes from and how it gets there. That order shapes the whole job: we're not choosing where a tub goes, we're figuring out how to get a circuit to wherever it already is or is about to be, which is exactly why the run and the placement end up being the real work, more than the breaker itself.
The disconnect has to sit where you can reach it in an emergency but away from the water, which is a placement call as much as a wiring one. We look at that alongside the tub's spot before we ever talk price.

What the flat rate covers, and what it doesn't
Our published flat rate is $3,295 for a 50 amp, 240 volt breaker, a disconnect, and the whip that runs from the disconnect to the tub. Conditions apply. Pricing subject to change. That's the electrical package: the breaker, the shutoff, the final cable run.
Trenching to get that whip from the disconnect to the tub is done by others, not by us. If the yard needs a trench dug, that's a separate piece to arrange, and we'll tell you plainly what our part starts and stops at so nobody's guessing.
The other thing that changes the number is what's already in your panel. If there's no spare capacity for a 50 amp, 240 volt circuit, the job becomes a panel change first, which we publish separately at $3,495. We check that before we quote, so you know which job you're actually buying.
Chapter 03
Why we check the panel before we touch the tub
A lot of the older housing around our own shop on N Lombard Street has a panel that was sized for a house, not for a house plus a hot tub, and finding that out after the trench is dug is the expensive way to learn it. We'd rather tell you up front.
