Chapter 01
Getting new cable through an old house without opening every wall
Most of St. Johns and North Portland was framed before 1950, and that changes what a rewire actually is. It's less about the wire itself and more about the path: how you fish new cable through plaster and lath, around balloon framing, and past a knob and tube run that was never meant to carry a modern load, without tearing the house apart to do it. Thirty years of remodels in this same housing stock is what makes that part routine for us instead of guesswork.
We do whole-home rewiring and partial rewiring for renovations and additions, and we bring the same read on old framing to both. A kitchen remodel that only needs three new circuits still runs into the same joist bays and wall cavities a full rewire does, and knowing where the last owner's electrician already ran cable saves real time and real drywall.

New construction and low-voltage data wiring
New construction is the other side of this page, and it starts from a clean slate: no old cable to work around, but every circuit, panel feed, and low-voltage data run has to be planned before drywall closes the walls. Proper wiring is essential for new construction and renovations, meeting all safety standards and local codes to create a strong electrical foundation for the property.
Low-voltage data wiring for network drops, cameras, and structured cabling gets planned and run alongside the power wiring rather than as an afterthought, so a homeowner isn't fishing a data line through a finished wall six months after we've packed up.

Panel upgrades and code compliance updates run alongside the rewire
A rewire is also the point where an undersized panel or an outdated breaker layout usually gets addressed, since the new circuits have to land somewhere that can actually carry them. Outlet and switch replacements are part of the same scope wherever the old wiring behind them is being pulled anyway.

How we run the job, start to finish
Every rewire starts with an initial consultation and inspection at the property, walking the space with the homeowner and looking at what's actually behind the walls before pricing anything. From there we build a customized rewiring plan specific to that house's framing and the rooms being touched.
Professional installation follows the plan, then system testing and verification before we call it done, and a final review and cleanup so the crew leaves the space the way we found it, minus the old wiring. Estimates on rewiring work are typically available within 1 to 2 weeks, and every job carries our 1-year workmanship warranty from the date of service.
